The Young Girl and The Dean

Kneeling under an oak
There's a young girl gathering firewood.
Youthful and cheeful, she keeps working...
She sings and sings and keeps on singing!

While she was picking up the last twig,
A comes down the oak grove.
As hot as a chilli pepper, as fat as a potato,
When he's by her side, he jumps off his donkey!

'For your sorrows, I shall give you honey
So that, when you die, you'll go to Heaven.
You must repent of your sins with me,
Embrace me and give me a really big kiss!' 1

'I shan't embrace you only once,
But two hundred... Even two thousand times!
But if my father comes, and he is never late...
Ah, if he catches us! God save us!
'

'Climb up this tree, monsignor dean,
So you can see whether father is coming...
For if he's already on his way, as he's never late...
Ah, if he catches us! God save us!
'

While he was climbing up, as heavy as a rock,
She suddenly leaped up and mounted the donkey!
And poor monsignor is left
Without his embrace, his donkey and his kiss!

'You really thought, you fucking wanker,
That you'd cut the pear and you'd get your little worm in...
' 2
And poor monsignor is left
Without screwing, his donkey and his kiss!

[Instrumental]

  • 1. Obviously, in this instance embrace is used in the euphemistic sense, referring to sex.
  • 2. I think that is is pretty self-explanatory, but just in case: tallar la pera (lit. 'to cut the pear'), means to take someone's virginity. Ficar-hi el cuc (lit. 'get [the] little worm in there'), is a despective allusion to the priest's less than impressive genitalia, obviously enough.

Znajte svoja prava

Ovo je javnoga servisa objava
Uz tamburu
Upoznajte svoja prava
Sva tri od njih

Pod jedan
Da ne budete ubiveni imate prava
Ubistvo je zločin
Osim ako to nije uradio
Pandur
Il' aristokrate
Svoja prava znajte

Pod dva
Imate pravo na novac za hranu
Davanje naravno
Nemate ništa protiv malo
Istrage, poniženja
I ako prekrstite prste
Rehabilitacija

Znajte svoja prava
Ovo su vaša prava
Ajde, reci, Vang

A, znam ta prava

Pod tri
Imate pravo na slobodu govora
Sve dokle god
Ne budeš blesav da zaista probaš

Znajte svoja prava
Ovo su vaša prava
O, znate svoja prava
Ovo su vaša prava
Od nji' sva tri
Hi!
U određenim krugovima je sugerisano
Da to nije dovoljno
Jeb' ga

Skloni se sa ulice
Begaj
Skloni se sa ulice

Am barbat frumušel (Am bărbat frumușel)

(x2)
Bărbatul meu este așa frumușel
Toate fetele se uită după el!

(x2)
Toate mândrele l-ar vrea
Toate-n brațe l-ar ținea,
Nu-i ușor să fii nevastă
Cu bărbat frumos în casă!

(x2)
Când cu mine ele pe drum se-ntâlnesc,
După el toate fetele privesc.

(x2)
Toate mândrele l-ar vrea
Toate-n brațe l-ar ținea,
Nu-i ușor să fii nevastă
Cu bărbat frumos în casă!

(x2)
Toate mândrele din sat mie îmi spun
Că am bărbat frumușel dar și bun.

(x2)
Toate mândrele l-ar vrea
Toate-n brațe l-ar ținea,
Nu-i ușor să fii nevastă
Cu bărbat frumos în casă!

Tot ce voi1 eu acum s-ascultați
Grija mea să nu mi-o mai purtați.
Grija voastră este să vă măritați,
Că bărbatul nu puteți să mi-l luați.

(x2)
Toate mândrele l-ar vrea
Toate-n brațe l-ar ținea,
Nu-i ușor să fii nevastă
Cu bărbat frumos în casă!

Mondina

The sky awakens at dawn all in gold
Mondina, as you walk singing, with a joyful heart
The dawn breeze caresses your golden curls
In the wide rice fields, you live your little world
Your face reflects on the water, more beautiful than a flower

Eliuliulì, eliuliulà, life is so beautiful at this lovely age
Eliuliulì, eliuliulà, like a little swallow, love will come one day!

From the old bell tower, the noon chimes ring
Mondina, burned by the sun, to that sound of bells
You smile and devour your happy meal, because
You know how hard that bread costs you
You know that every table, at this hour, smells for you!

Eliuliulì, eliuliulà, life is so beautiful at this lovely age
Eliuliulì, eliuliulà, like a little swallow, love will come one day!

Night approaches, it’s already the time of the Ave Maria
Mondina, why don’t you smile at this hour of love?
You look at the sunset and sigh: 'Where is my love?'
Is he perhaps on the mountains, near your old shepherd
Or by the ancient path, waiting for you?

Eliuliulì, eliuliulà, life is so beautiful at this lovely age
Eliuliulì, eliuliulà, like a little swallow, love will come one day!
